Once the probabilistic model is defined, the central tendency analysis enables the computation of main statistics of the output variables.

Persalys provides two methods to perform a central tendency analysis:

  • Taylor expansion: this is a limited second-order expansion around the mean
  • Monte-Carlo sampling: the model is evaluated on a large number of random samplings
The Monte Carlo sampling provides a greater variety of results, similar to those obtained from the design of experiments.
